God certainly has a way of holding us to our responsibilities. That should not be surprising since His desire is for us to be like Him. He created us in His image and knitted us in the womb. He knows us like the back of His mighty hand. There is nothing that escapes Him; nothing that He doesn’t see or anticipate.
He knows every though before we think it, word before we speak it, and action before we act it. He ways the motives of our hearts and gives us wisdom when we need it.
He also knows what is best for us. When Adam was looking for a help-mate long ago, none of the animals that had been created were suitable for him, so God created a one for him out of Adam’s rib: a woman.
The Bible tells us that husbands are to “live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.” (1 Peter 3:7 ESV)
The secret to having your prayers answered is to live in an understanding way to your wife. Are you doing that? Are you connecting with her? Are you trying to help her? Does she feel understood by you or are you driving her crazy?
Your prayers, the things you may really desire, may not be happening because of the way you treat your wife. Ouch! Future posts will help us husbands how to live with your wife in an understanding way.
